HELLO FELLOW FLUTE PEOPLE! HAHAHA. Has it dawned on you guys that chalet is coming in less than a week?? HAHA. YAY! Okays. Down to serious business ... we need to settle the games logistics part!

Here's the list of things we need to play the games we suggested. What I need you guys to do, is to tell me (either via comments or tagboard) what you can bring from your house :) Or like if you're willing to buy and bring them over. HAHA! All help will be greatly appreciated.

And seniors, I'll need to collect $20 from FIVE of you (inclu myself) to aid the juniors in funding the ordered BBQ food first. Meaning ... you'll get back the money once our guests pay up. HAHA. Because there's a crazy woman living in my house, I have tons of half to unused shampoos at home. So, I was hoping I could contribute one or two shampoo so that the rest of you don't need to bring. I desperately need to get rid of them cuz they are clogging up my bathroom shelf. if you want to buy it at 70% discount i also dun mind. LOL.

Hello people! There will be a section outing at the Singapore Zoological Gardens.

Date: 3rd December 2008, Wednesday.

Time: meet at 1.00pm, arrive at the Zoo about 3pm.

Meeting place: Pasir Ris MRT Station

Venue: Singapore Zoological Gardens

Entrance Fees: $18 per adult.

However, if you want the 2-in-1 park hoppers special, that is the Zoo and Night Safari, it will be S$30.00.

How to get there: Taking MRT to Ang Mo Kio Station & from there, take bus service 138.

There will be a lot of things to do, for example, we can visit Sim Hui Qin's enclosure ( which are the monkeys ) and amanda's enclosure ( wombat ). Then if you guys want, we can go to the night safari as well! : D

I would like to clarify certain doubts and misunderstanding which have arisen from the mishandling of some issues.

Under sheer pressure and immense threatening from two seniors, I was forced to assume the role of the welfare officer. Last Friday, after watching a concert by Temasek Polytechnic Band, Tan Li Hong, aged 20, a big and burly man, came towards me with his hand stretched out. Apparently and most probably, he seemed to be offering a handshake. Without much deliberation, I was caught in his sinister trap, where by shaking his hands, I was agreeing to accepting full responsibility for the welfare of the flute section and also, receiving a highly life-threatening post - the Head OF the Ministry OF Welfare OF Flute Section OF Hsc(alumni)band (aka saikang warrior). Struck dumbfounded, our hands were immediately clutched (is this the right word?) into a handshake. I felt numbness spreading from my hands to my body(lol?) as Tan Li Hong, also known as, the Ed, signalled to his accomplice, Ng Man Ning, who refer to herself as Ning-er, to confirm the handshake. Hence, there I was, trapped in the pits of hell, as the Head OF the Ministry OF Welfare OF Flute Section OF Hsc(alumni)band (aka saikang warrior).

Date: 21st -23rd December (Sunday – Tuesday)
Duration: 3 days 2 nights
Venue: Costa Sands Pasir Ris Downtown East

Flute Section Chalet 2008 packing list
• Tops. The organizing committee encourages females to bring dark-coloured tops. We don’t want to get hormones entering our bloodstream when the humidity increases (including an extra for wet games)
• Bottoms (including an extra for wet games)
• Underwear! (including an extra for wet games)
• An Umbrella, we don’t want to get wet, do we?
• A pair of slippers and do ensure that your slippers are in good condition, we don’t know the chances of them disintegrating
• A pair of shoes (optional)
• Sufficient amount of money
- To pay for our daily expenses
- To chip in for the cost of the chalet and barbecue (they’re separate)
- For seniors to treat their juniors, seniors, please do take this seriously.
• Any kinds of games which you think everyone can take part in, for example, cards, board games, balls
• Flute?
• MP3 / Walkman / Hand phone / Pager / PSP / PS 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
• A sweater if you think your body’s thermo-regulator is not efficient enough
• Towel
• Shampoo and soap
• Toothbrush and toothpaste (someone could bring one tube and everyone could share it)
• Comb
• Boyfriend/girlfriend/spouse (by Emily the Strange)
• Plastic bags to store soiled clothes
• Sun-block/Sun-tan lotion — The organizing committee strongly thinks that none of us should risk getting skin cancer, due to prolonged exposure to ultraviolet radiation
• Water bottle – The committee also hopes for everyone to stay healthy by drinking enough plain water. Consuming too much sweet drinks may be deemed as a grave, toxic, deadly, lethal and fatal thing to do for some strictly-health conscious HSC flautists, whose names happen to start with H. Also, the committee hopes that none might be offended by the above statements. Please drink more water, then.

Exception:

To dearest nerdy studious flautists, for example, Jermain and of course, Andy, I hope you will forgive the committee for any misconception and inaccuracies in this mail. Once again, thanks.

• For all critical-year students, we welcome you with open arms to bring your study equipment and materials for this chalet, just in case you start feeling insecure, very deprived of studying, when your conscience is haunting you or in Andy’s case, when you feel angry (:

New Appointment

Attention all fellow hscflautists,

Seng Wei Jun has been officially appointed (by me) as the Head OF the Ministry OF Welfare OF Flute Section OF Hsc(alumni)band (aka saikang warrior) with effect after his last O Level paper.

He will be committed to work really really hard to ensure that we all have a good time at the coming chalet in 21th and 22nd of dec. Please cooperate with him, give him your support so that he can ~~be fully utilised~~ maximise his potentials.

We are also hoping to invite Ms Hilary to give all of us a Motivational Talk on "weight management and the path to nirvana-ship" during the chalet. Salads and mineral water should be served, i guess?, during the reception. This programme is in GREAT demand, so we really hope Ms Hilary will turn up for the chalet no matter what!

Anyway, we are still accepting all sort of nonsense and suggestions to make our chalet more happening. If you havn't voted for the poll on the right, you should. If your nonsense and suggestions are not included, please tag them on the tagboard.

I would also like to take this opportunity to remind our autocratic empress dowager that the deadline of the flute alumni tshirt that she set herself is long overdue.

Chalet Annoucement

Dear Flute Section,

I would like to announce that our chalet plan has been put on hold as the operation to secure a chalet unit via connections has FAILED!

Anyway, let's not weep ourselves to self destruction now as we still have the option to book the chalet - the civilian way. The catch is that it's 420bucks for 2 nights for coasta sands pasir ris. Additionally, we have to reschedule our dates due to other faster civilians who had booked their units long ago.

So the details is as follow:

2 nights (21/12 and 22/12 nights) Changed
Sunday check in, Monday, Tuesday check out

Lao Jiao Profile

The Management has decided to record details of each flautist's particulars because the favourite topics of senior and juniors are, "Who are you?" and "Which batch are you har?"

So, this post aims to answer all your queries about the wonders of the section, from batch 1984 onwards.
(Btw, this post was wiped out at least twice. The Management is super sian.)

1984
Cheng Tze Siong
He once acclaimed the Best Soloist Award, and is the perpetrator of the vibrato culture. He is now a living mystery. Dunno where he is.
EDIT He was sighted at the Pasir Ris Control Station on the day this post was created!!! He has changed name to Cheng Yue Pan. O.O His contact number is with the Management. Wahahaha.

1985
There are no known members from our section this year because according to history, there were only 5 band members that year, namely Cedric, Daniel, Yoke Pui, Jing Wan and Carol. If you actually encounter a spiritual member, please let us know. And exorcise him her please.

1986
Kun Mei Ching
This FF11 freak is now doing a double degree at NTU about some Chinese English acupuncture medicine thing. The Management has agreed to be the guinea pig for her first acupuncture. So, the Management is shivering with fear/excitement. This legendary flautist used to boast about her flute wiping skills. Erh. Anyway she is actually born 1985.

Cheng Xin Hui
The Management remembers her as the lady who wore bracers and still managed to play the flute. She is now aspiring to be a teacher, and is part of both Mus Art and NUS Symphony Orchestra.

Hiew Li Hong
Do not be mistaken; this Li Hong is female. If you are Hiew Li Hong, please contact us--WE NEED YOU

1987
Lynette Ng
This self-acclaimed Management has switched 3 jobs in a single year and aspires to switch 4 in the following (please do not take down this statement; it is not true). She is currently exploiting Tan Li Hong's laptop. Yay. She is remembered to be damn action.

Cheng Jing Yi
This mysterious woman has disappeared. She is remembered to be the star player of Fatal Frame. Please play for us once more! (L)

Burt Thyng
Bird Bird recently appeared at the babakuu and actually derived joy in talking about people fainting at the sight of corpses. He has disappeared for a long time, but despite the long respite, he is still a comic character. He loves talking about Teriyaki Chicken.

Tan Li Hong
This ultra fit man is a Chemical Engineering student at TP but somehow is damn good at design (better than Lynette who is damn sad at Design). He is forever talking about trying to type his SIP report about 4000words but he is only at 1500 words. Today he promises to finish his SIP report as he did in the last three days. He termed himself the No person.

Lin Huizhen
The Management remembers that she has a Christian name that starts with C (Catharine Catalina Catalyst or something). She is majoring in Applied Maths in NUS. This crazy woman felt sore despite scoring 90+ in Maths. How dare she! She is a fan of KickBoxing and she likes to ogle at male species photos.

Zeng Wan Ying
She has gone missing. If you are Zeng Wan Ying, please contact us--WE NEED YOU TOO

1989
Manning Ng
Man Man Lai is now working as a data entry warrior (saikang). She aspires to grow another 2cm, so let's pray for her. She is under Wang Tong's teachings and constantly says she sounds like sai. How could she? If she learns vibrato where will the sai come from?? Anyway, she has termed herself the Whiner.

Sim Hui Qin
Choco Princess has somehow managed to maintain the same look despite many years--blur sotong and funny. Sometimes the Management cannot tell Hui Qin and Huizhen apart because they both like to ogle at guys and kickbox. When she sings she sounds like the Anime Ending Song vocalist. Please go and kickbox with her. Her regular session starts Sunday 11am.

Mystery Rainft
He was part of us until end of Sec 2. We do not know where he is and what he looks like apart from the fact that he eats with his mouth closed, but let us pray he is doing well. Hahaha.

Andy Tay
This man is now in the Critical Year, a term he proudly introduces to the whole section. He used to talk about anti-climax ghost stories. He acts blur but he really is pretty damn smart.

Jermain Cho
This kinesthetic learner has a very funny name. The Management could not spell his name and spelt it as Germain. (strangely reminds the Management of Germany.) Anyway, this man has a colourful history and has indeed grown to be a strong man. (????)

Qi Yun
China Girl recently appeared at the babakuu with her sheep clothes. :D She is remembered to be smiling, smiling...and then saying something Qian Bian. Haaaa.

Amanda
The Management hereby apologises; we only remember that Amanda lives in Loyang Valley. Please forgive us. (???)

Seng Wei Jun
This hyperactive kid is always asking "why why why??" and is the complete opposite of his lazy brother. It is rumoured that Wei Jun used to walk behind and Wei Jie in front or vice versa, and that Wei Jie bore a secret grudge because Wei Jun always beat him in Naruto.

This strange alien is somehow affiliated to the flute (apart from the fact his section has a very straightforward family tree) and acts as a Cook, Chauffeur and in future, Saikang Warrior. Oh, Chauffeur also in future. He may look damn lazy, but he really is very lazy. If you take note, he even laughs lazily.
